Ack. This has been a real pain in the rump to get everything set up around here (and elsewhere). Along with technical issues arising, I'm just flat changing my mind about things, so that's not helping. Here's the latest development:

I've decided that Pointless Games will go back to my early/original vision of hosting mainly games that are truly "pointless" in nature. That includes games like The Idiot Button, which I'll put in here momentarily. I still have to work out getting site score boards working, so I'm not going to add too many more games until that's online. Please hang on to your patience horses until which time that happens.

Other than that, I've farmed off all the "other" games to another site that will be intended as a massive (eventually) arcade site. The goal there will be to include tons of games, but not necessarily following the specific theme of "pointless" or whatever. That site is FlashGamePost.com. I'll put up more obvious links onces it's built up better.

So, hopefully you'll hang on for the longer ride, even though stuff is looking somewhat weak at the moment. I'll explain more of the bigger picture soon.

Hold yer horses! Old site goodies being transferred.

Please be patient as I systematically bring over all the good stuff from the old PointlessGames.com site. That will hopefully include user accounts and ALL the comments/forum posts, but right now, I'm not totally sure what will be compatible with this new, VERY different system.

If you're looking to get at a game you want to play from the old site (or if you want to see where things have come from) I made a copy of the old site here:
www.FlashGamePost.com (I know, the domain is just one I had available. It'll work for now.)

So run over there and play if you want something right away. Otherwise, hang out here and see how things change over the next couple hours! I'm doing all this in real time, so if you happen to be around now, you'll see the evolution of a site right before your eyes. Fun, fun.

Anyway, I'll do my best to bring over all the old users, so if you had an account in the old Pointless Games, hold on for more news and I'll see what I can do ASAP.

Welcome to Pointless Games 3.0 BETA!

It's been a loooong time coming, but here we go on the next round of work on PointlessGames.com. I'm figuring it is around version 3.0, but maybe more like 6.0 or something if you count some of the really early work back around 1999-2003 or so. Whatever it's called, I'm stoked to get things using a MUCH better (read: easier to work with) system in the back end. This should help me across several sites to make updates and add features.

So... a couple notes as of today:

Scores are not yet working in the games that have been moved over. This will remain a work in progress on this new site system, but I figure having games to play is more important than having high scores... I know scoring rocks though, so that will come soon. Content from the old Pointless Games site -- including games, articles, forum posts and comments -- will all be converted over time, with my ideas of the "most important" stuff being converted first, followed by the rest. I may actually just tank some of it if it's not something we need anymore. There's a lot of history here that I want preserved, so I hope to get most of it pulled in, for archival purposes if nothing else. This is still a work in progress, so hopefully anything broken will be fixed soon. Please have some patience and drop me a note if you have requests or praise (especially praise... I need motivation to keep working hard on this stuff, eh?!)

Thanks for playing!! I really appreciate all the great folks (excluding the jerks and spammers, of course) who have been dropping by for a long time. Welcome to all the new folks, but a very special THANK YOU to all our regulars. I hope you'll all agree that the site is shaping up much better with some very long overdue updates.
